Life is going on…

Brian was having really difficult problems about drug. After consultation with doctor, he went to visit his grandmother. He was feeling very lonely in this world and he was looking for someone to talk and share his problems. His grandmother was working in a fast food restaurant. She had to work to stay alive. She had diabetes and hypertension. And medical insurance was so much expensive, that’s why she needed to work. She was housewife for many years but her husband died and did not leave her so much property. Also her daughter, Brian’s mom, Laura, was not a frugal girl in her teenage times. So, she was also an unhappy woman.

Brian came home and he saw his grandmother sitting and thinking deeply in a chair. She stared at Brian’s eyes. She understood something was going wrong. Brian was looking very sad, innocent and like begging her to help him. His grandmother, Samantha became gracious and she smiled at him. They were having problems before, because Brian was doing bad things with bad friends. Samantha opened her arms and welcomed her grandson. Brian was crying in her arms. She hugged him very tightly. “Oh my little boy, welcome to your grandma”, she welcomed him.

Brian: “ Grandma, forgive me, i have been very bad boy.”

Samantha: “You forgive me too, i have not shown you compassion and interest enough.”

Brian: “ You have been a mother and father to me in this cruel life. But i could not be aware of your sacrifice. I have been a very bad and stingy boy, thinking just myself and how to have fun.”

Samantha: “ Hush...tell me your problem honey.”

Brian: “Mum, i am a drug addict. I have been using intravenous drugs for a few months. Now, i can not do without them and i had an attack. I used my friend’s needle. And we have just learned that he is being suspected about HIV carriage today.”

Samantha was so surprised and worried. She asked what doctor told him. Brian told her everything they talked with Dr.Hussain.

"Oh dear, we have to wait and pray then" Samantha said.

Brian asked: "Who do we pray, grandma? Doctor told me he is Muslim and they call God "Allah". I want to know difference between God and Allah."

Samantha surprised, "It is just the name. " she replied. "They believe Jesus is prophet of God, but we believe in that Jesus is son of God. Because he was born from Virgin Mary who neither had a husband nor a relationship. So, God sent him to us."

Brian was surprised. He didn't learn much about religions. But he wondered why God needed to have a son. He wanted to learn properties of God according to Christianity and other religions. He decided to make a search and talk to Dr.Hussain as soon as possible. But now, he wants to be sure about his life. First, he had to be sure about HIV. If he had it or not. He was also planning to get rid of IV drug addiction. This trouble about HIV made Brian questioned his life.

“Why am i a human? Why did i come here, this world? Why did not i have father and mother with me like many kids or teenagers?” he was thinking.

He decided to look for answers after being sure about HIV. He never felt death was close to him before.

  What about Alex?

Alex felt good with talking to Dr. Hussain. He started to look for people HIV positive to talk to them in his neighborhood. His neighborhood was not a neat place, there were lots of drug users, and some of them were HIV positive and even some had AIDS which means acquired immunodeficiency syndrome. Alex found John. John were living in same neighborhood, but had to move away because of economical issues. John told he had HIV for about probably 2 or 3 years. But he found out that he was positive 1 year ago. He had been admitted to hospital 1 year ago, because he was fainted and found alone at the street. People saw him called ambulance. He was diagnosed AIDS at this time.
